Our next course for media training will start Tuesday 31st October, running twice a week (Tuesday and Wednesday) for 6 weeks until 6th December. The course runs from 10am to 3pm with a break for lunch. If you are interested in attending or want to find out more please get in touch using the details below.
Radio Plus has a commitment to training at least 50 out of work participants per year and to offer work placements to at least 10 people per year.
Our unique "Routes to Employment" job-readiness and media training course is specifically tailored to the needs of those currently out of work or training in the community. The course focuses on building confidence, preparing participants for work and by creating a team to prepare and present a live radio show on Radio Plus, with the advantage of learning a range of media skills in the process over a 6-week period.
Sessional staff are available to provide an introduction to basic radio skills including digital editing, broadcast journalism and radio package-making skills. This will involve participants researching local news stories and recording interviews at several locations in order to edit together a package. Acquired skills will empower participants to have their voice heard and tell their own story as well as that of the community. Radio Plus is always looking for good stories and new voices.
If you're interested in taking part in Routes to Employment, we will can register your interest for future courses that will run for 6 weeks every Tuesday and Wednesday. We run 3 courses a year. For more information, contact Trish White: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 02477 712401
